Indy Minute - Back in business
I’m
back, Delco Elbow Drop fans. I’m sure you’ve noticed the lack of updates the
past two weeks, as I was away on vacation but dry those eyes because the dark
days without Indy Minute news are behind us.
Ring of Honor recently announced the signing
of former NFL offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka. Working under the name Moose,
Ojinnaka was drafted by the Falcons in 2006 and played in Atlanta for four
years and also played for the Patriots, Colts and Rams.
Apparently, John Cena’s dad is a manager on the New England indy indy circuit named “Johnny Fabulous.” I never would’ve believed it if I hadn’t heard about it on the Art of Wrestling podcast and looked it up myself.
Matt Sydal and Drew Galloway have been announced for Evolve shows in Florida on August 8 and 9. Aug 8, Gargano vs Sydal, Trent? vs Galloway-Aug 9 Ricochet vs Sydal non title match
These are the first Evolve shows in a while as the company/WWNLive has been trying to get it's Roku channel and website content in order for several months.
The Young Bucks are signed to appear at Ring of Honor shows in Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Chicago and Toronto this August. AJ Styles will also be returning to ROH on September 27 at the company’s debut in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Tokyo Sports is reporting that WWE will announce the signing of former Pro Wrestling NOAH star KENTA during their tour of the country in July. There are even rumors that Hulk Hogan will be on hand for the signing on July 12 in Osaka.
Enzo Anore made his return this week during a Colin Cassidy match against Sawyer Fulton. Sylvester LaFort and Marcus Louis came out and confronted Big Case prompting Enzos return.
NXT's tag division is growing lately. Enzo and Cass, Legionnaires, Vaudevillains, Travis Tyler/Angelo Dawkins. Kalisto/Local are also an option. No one really seems to be a real threat to the Ascension though.
Saw a rumor on WrestlingInc that Corey Graves may be done as an in-ring performer. His latest concussion must be pretty severe because the word is WWE is looking for another role for him in the company.
Prince Devitt was at a Progress Wrestling (Progress World Cup against Jimmy Havoc) event in London over the past weekend and it was announced as his last UK appearance before heading to the United States. Heading to the U.S. for what exactly is anyone’s guess, but I’m sure you can figure out why.
