Indy Minute: Your weekly source for independent wrestling news
Sorry
this is late folks but things have been hectic at my newspaper day job
and with Thanksgiving last week, I didn’t have time to write up anything more
for Indy Minute. So here’s the stuff that appeared on Ring Rust Radio. I’m
hoping that this week I’ll be able to have a more complete write up.
NXT
Bayley faced Becky Lynch to open NXT TV. Becky won the match with a roll up
after Sasha Banks distracted Bayley. Next, The Vaudevillains defeated two minis
wrestlers in Lucha Dragons t-shirts followed by a short video package with
Kevin Steen saying he will fight anyone and everyone with a date of December 11
at the end. Baron Corbin squashed Elias Sampson in 22 seconds and afterward
Bull Dempsey made his way to the ring, pushing past Corbin. The crowd started
counting for his match like they do with Corbin and began to boo when his match
went longer than 22 seconds. Dempsey defeated Steve Cutler with a flying
headbutt. Tyson Kidd made CJ Parker tap to the Sharpshooter and Enzo Amore and
Colin Cassady defeated Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, but were attacked by the
Ascension as they left the ring. To close the show, Adrian Neville agrees to
give Sami Zayn a rematch for the NXT title on December 11 and Zayns says if he
doesn’t win, stipulation or not, he’s done in NXT.
Lucha Underground
On Lucha Underground, Sexy Star defeated Ivelisse and before the match, said
that she is going to kick Chavo’s ass for what he did to her, Blue Demon Jr and
Mascarita Sagrada. Next, Pentagon Jr. thanked Cueto for giving him a chance in
Lucha Underground and had a rematch against Fenix but lost when Fenix hit him
with a one-man Spanish Fly. King Cuerno also debuted this week but lost to
Drago. In the main event, Johnny Mundo faced Big Rick and won by
disqualification after the Crenshaw Crew attacked him and Big Rick put Mundo
through a table.
New Japan Pro Wrestling
New Japan Pro Wrestling will begin airing on AXS TV in America in 2015. The
series will be 13 episodes and consist of old content including the 2013 G1
Climax tournament. Mauro Ranallo and former UFC Heavyweight champion Josh
Barnett will record commentary for the episodes. No beginning date has been
announced for the series.
At PWG’s “Black Cole Sun” on December 12, Kyle O’Reilly will defend the PWG World Championship against Battle of Los Angeles winner Ricochet. The World’s Cutest Tag Team will defend the PWG tag team titles against The Addiction, The Young Bucks will face Chris Sabin and Matt Sydal, Chris Hero takes on Trevor Lee and Adam Cole faces Cedric Alexander.
